Okpebholo Pledges Reduced Tuition Fees for Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, also known as Akpakomiza, has vowed to lower the tuition fees of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, if elected governor.
He made this commitment yesterday in Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area, during his campaign rally, where he welcomed numerous Labour Party supporters who defected to the APC. Led by Hon. Desmond Igbas Ezehi, former Minority Whip in the Edo State House of Assembly, the decampees joined the APC fold.
Addressing the crowd, Senator Monday Okpebholo expressed dismay at the deterioration of Ambrose Alli University under the current administration. He criticized Governor Obaseki for turning the institution into a mere shadow of its former self, causing undue hardship for parents who aspire to educate their children there.
In a bid to alleviate the burden on students and their families, Okpebholo pledged to slash the exorbitant tuition fees from four hundred thousand naira to a range of eighty to fifty thousand naira, depending on the field of study. He assured that upon assuming office, he would convene with his team to address the underlying issues and ensure the reinstatement of unlawfully dismissed lecturers.
With this promise, Okpebholo aims to restore Ambrose Alli University to its former glory and provide accessible education for all.
Hon Oyakhilome Bello is the APC-USA National Youth Leader
