Albert Obazee, The Deputy Director General for ASUE IGHODALO and spokesperson for the PDP, sparked controversy today by launching a scathing attack on the OBIDENT Movement, led by supporters of Peter Obi in Edo State.
In a fiery statement, Obazee dismissed the OBIDENT Movement as overrated and irrelevant to ASUE IGHODALO's campaign for the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial election. "Peter Obi and his supporters are overhyped and have no significance in Edo State," Obazee declared, throwing down the gauntlet against the influential group.
The OBIDENT Movement gained prominence during the last general election for its massive support of Peter Obi, who, although not winning nationally according to INEC, won Edo State decisively in the general election.
"ASUE IGHODALO can succeed without the OBIDENT Movement's support," Obazee said, further alienating the group by implying their support was unnecessary and unhelpful.
Mocking OBIDENT supporters directly, Obazee challenged them to redirect their support elsewhere, asserting that ASUE IGHODALO would triumph independently.
Obazee's inflammatory remarks are likely to escalate tensions between ASUE IGHODALO's camp and the OBIDENT Movement, potentially influencing political dynamics leading up to the election.
