President General Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders and National President, Yoruba Youths Association (Worldwide) Dr HASSAN Tolani A call for calm cancellation of the protest

President General Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders and National President, Yoruba Youths Association (Worldwide) Dr HASSAN Tolani A call for calm cancellation of the protest and

disassociates himself from any planned protest as well as immediate inaugurationof a National Youth Summit

The coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders which is the apex and umbrella body for all Youth Associations and organizations in the entire Yoruba land appreciates the plights of the entire Youths in Yoruba land and indeed the entire country. The economy is unfriendly and the cost of living is outrageous, out of the reach of the common man. It's a truism that inflation rate is in the double digit (hyper inflation) and unemployment rate in Nigeria is alarming. So many graduates are out there with no means of survival. The Federal Government has not employed people in the last couple of years.

The leadership of Yoruba Youth Leaders do not want a repeat of the ENDSARS saga. There should be a more refined manner of getting our leaders to hear our plights other than protest. There are agitations and insecurity in every part of the country, any attempt to have a protest now may cause mayhem which is not the solution to our pressing challenges.

It is important to reiterate that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is our beloved father and Leader, we want him to succeed because our prosperity lies in his success. The President should listen to us, his Children. We love you Sir, but we are hungry and unemployed. The President should interface with all the Youth Leaders in the various geo-political zones directly. All the intermediaries have failed. Since inception of this administration, the President have been busy repositioning the country but neglected the youth constituency.

Hence, there is a dire need to have a National Youth Summit where all the various youth leaders can discuss with Mr. President and address all the prevailing issues.

It is pertinent to state that the Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders under the leadership of Dr HASSAN Tolani A.;

1) fully supports the administration of H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2) urges the FGN to review both the monetary and fiscal policies in the interest of the Nigerian masses. The lending rate (interest rate of 26.75%) is exhorbitant and cannot encourage investment.

3) there should be a concerted effort by both the public  and organized private sector to engage in massive employment generation and reduce job losses.

3) that the FGN should curtail the exodus of investors out of Nigeria and focus more on increasing foreign direct investment to Nigeria. The economy should be friendly to both local and foreign investors.

4) the power/energy sector should be completely overhauled. This is the hub of the economy.

5) the FGN should regularly engage the youth leadership of the various geo-political zones.

6) appreciate the inclusion of Youths in the Federal cabinet but demands for more. 35% slot should be given to Youths in the Federal Cabinet and Federal Boards appointment.

7) practical agriculture should be inculcated into the Educational Curriculum from Primary to Tertiary level with a start up grant given to interested prospective farmers after completion of the mandatory one year National Youth Service Scheme.

8) the FGN should reduce the cost of doing business in Nigeria significantly.

9) the Federal Government should as a matter of urgency reduce the prices of foodstuffs and other essential commodities.

10) free education should be declared by the federal and state governments from primary to secondary education level.

The apex body of the entire Youths in Yoruba land expressly disassociates itself from the planned protest and will defend the entire south west against any form of destruction by disgruntled elements who may want to cause havoc in the region, particularly, Lagos State.

Nigeria is our fatherland, together we can make it work.

Dialogue is the best way.

Consultation is a better approach.

#Say No to Protest.

#Say yes to Dialogue.

#Say yes to National Youth Summit

# Say yes to a better and more refined Nigeria.

Signed

Prince Tolani A. HASSAN PhD, FCCA, FIDPM, CNA, FCEA,MNIM, MNIMN, FRSA, CHMC, AICMC,

President-General, Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders and National President, Yoruba Youths Association Worldwide (YYA).
