Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA (YAYI), CON, joined The Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, alongside other distinguished colleagues and party faithful, to accompany the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , GCFR, and other eminent leaders of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to Jos, Plateau State, for the burial ceremony of the late Mama Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, the beloved mother of our National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe.
The solemn occasion was not only a time of mourning but also a celebration of a life well spent — a life marked by faith, humility, service, and unwavering devotion to God and humanity. Mama Lydia was a virtuous woman whose enduring values of compassion, discipline, and love remain evident in the character and leadership of her son, Professor Yilwatda, whose stewardship continues to strengthen the unity and progress of our great party.
Together with Mr. President, the Governors, and other dignitaries, we paid our last respects and extended heartfelt condolences to the Yilwatda family. We pray that Almighty God will grant Mama Lydia eternal rest and comfort the family with the grace and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
As a party and as a nation, we honour the memory of a mother whose legacy of virtue and service continues to inspire leadership grounded in integrity, humility, and compassion.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's who deliver his speech at the burial ceremony of Mama Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe emphasized her virtuous life and legacy. He described her as "a woman of virtue who lived a life dedicated to faith, service, and the uplifting of her community". Tinubu urged Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, her son and APC National Chairman, to accept her passing as God's will and find solace in her purposeful life.
Tinubu also highlighted Mama Lydia's compassion, discipline, and love, which were reflected in her son's leadership. He prayed for her eternal rest and comfort for her family, particularly Professor Yilwatda, during this difficult time.
At the ceremony, Tinubu emphasized unity, contentment, and productive leadership, saying, "Hate is not an option for us. Love is what we must continue to preach, love for one another". He also praised Professor Yilwatda as "a man of character and intellect"
