A Cry from the Grassroots: The APC Reward System Must Change

*A Cry from the Grassroots: The APC Reward System Must Change*

Across Nigeria, there is a growing wave of disappointment among the faithful members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). These are the men and women who gave their all their time, energy, and personal resources to secure victory for the party at all levels. They stood firm when it mattered most, carried the party’s message to every street and community, and defended its ideals with courage and conviction.

But today, many of these loyal soldiers are left behind. They are not being considered for appointments or opportunities, while individuals who neither participated in the struggle nor shared in the sacrifice now occupy positions of reward. This unfair system has become a deep wound in the heart of the party’s grassroots.

It is painful and disheartening to see true APC loyalists sidelined after the battle. The same people who printed banners, fueled campaign vehicles, and mobilized voters without any support from above are now watching strangers enjoy the fruits of their labour. This injustice weakens morale and discourages future commitment.

If this trend continues, it will destroy the very foundation of the APC a foundation built on loyalty, service, and sacrifice. A party cannot grow strong when its true believers are abandoned. Those who worked for victory should not be made to feel like outsiders in their own political family.

Let it be said loud and clear: Reward loyalty, not opportunism. Let those who stood in the gap be recognized. Let merit, dedication, and genuine contribution become the yardstick for appointments, not connections or favoritism.

*A Call to All Our Leaders*

We respectfully call on our party leaders from the National Working Committee to the State, Local Government, and Ward Executives to listen to this cry from the grassroots.

The time to act is now. The APC must rise above internal politics and build a reward system that honors sacrifice and strengthens unity.

The grassroots are the backbone of this great party. They carried the message when hope was low, and they must not be forgotten now that victory has come.

Let every leader remember this truth: when loyalty is rewarded, unity grows; when sacrifice is ignored, the foundation cracks.

The APC must return to its roots of justice, fairness, and inclusion  to prove that it is still the party of the people, built by the people, and sustained by the people.

Let the voices of the loyal be heard, and let justice begin within our house.
