AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, AND THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC), ON WHY DR. ALEX OTTI SHOULD BE ALLOWED BACK INTO THE PARTY

 *Your Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,* 

 *Professor. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC),* 

With profound respect and an abiding sense of loyalty to our great party, I write to appeal for the consideration and acceptance of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, the Executive Governor of Abia State, back into the fold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Since its formation, the APC has stood as a unifying platform for progressive leadership, national development, and people-centered governance. Its enduring strength lies in its openness to visionary, capable, and reform-minded leaders whose ultimate goal is the advancement of Nigeria and the empowerment of her people. Dr. Alex Otti exemplifies these ideals.

 *Dr. Alex Otti: A Record of Transformation and Progressive Leadership* 

Since assuming office as Governor of Abia State, Dr. Otti has distinguished himself as a reformer, a technocrat, and a servant-leader committed to restoring the dignity of governance in Abia. His administration has ushered in a new era of transparency, fiscal discipline, and infrastructural rebirth.

Some of his notable achievements include:

1. *Massive Infrastructure Renewal:* 

Dr. Otti has launched an aggressive road reconstruction program across Abia, including the completion and ongoing dualization of major roads in Aba, Umuahia, and other key economic corridors. His “Rebuild Abia Project” has restored Aba the commercial heartbeat of the South East to its former glory, unlocking business confidence and industrial activity.

2. *Urban Regeneration and Environmental Reforms* :

Through comprehensive urban renewal initiatives, Governor Otti has tackled long-neglected drainage systems, waste management, and flooding in major towns, creating a cleaner and healthier environment for residents.

3. *Workers’ Welfare and Financial Reforms:* 

Under his leadership, the Abia State Government cleared salary arrears owed to civil servants, reinstated due process in payroll management, and prioritized pensioners’ payments  restoring trust between government and the people. He introduced the Treasury Single Account (TSA) system and digital financial controls to curb leakages and ensure accountability.

4. *Education and Health Sector Revamp:* 

Dr. Otti has revived dilapidated schools, enhanced teachers’ training, and improved educational infrastructure. In health, his administration has renovated hospitals, improved staff welfare, and launched rural healthcare outreach programs to ensure equitable access to quality medical care.

5. *Economic and Investment Drive* :

His prudent fiscal management and investor-friendly policies have attracted both local and foreign investments. He established an Economic Advisory Council comprising top Nigerian technocrats to guide Abia’s transformation into a self-sustaining economy.

6. *Security and Good Governance:* 

Through collaboration with security agencies and community leaders, Dr. Otti has significantly reduced criminal activities and ensured a stable environment conducive for business and social growth. His commitment to transparent governance has made Abia a model of accountability and efficiency in public administration.

 *Alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda* 

Dr. Alex Otti’s governance philosophy mirrors the Renewed Hope Agenda of your administration, Your Excellency. His results-driven leadership, fiscal prudence, and dedication to the welfare of citizens align perfectly with your vision of economic recovery, infrastructural modernization, and inclusive national growth.

His earlier association with the APC was built upon shared values and a mutual desire to deliver good governance to Nigerians. Though political dynamics led to his temporary movement to another platform, his commitment to progressive ideals and continued cooperation with APC stakeholders remain unbroken.

 *A Strategic Move for the South East and Nigeria* 

Welcoming Dr. Otti back into the APC will not only strengthen the party’s structure in Abia and across the South East but also demonstrate unity, maturity, and inclusiveness under your leadership. The APC stands to gain a credible and performing governor whose governance has already won the trust of the people  especially the youths, business community, and technocrats across the region.

Your Excellency, this moment presents an opportunity to bridge old divides, expand the progressive family, and fortify the APC’s presence in the South East. History will remember you as the leader who built bridges across regions, empowered reformers, and deepened Nigeria’s democratic inclusivity.

May the Almighty continue to grant you wisdom, strength, and foresight as you lead our great nation toward peace, prosperity, and renewed hope.
