Award of Excellence in Health Leadership
Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin, Chief Executive Officer of the Edo Health Regulation and Monitoring Agency (EDOHERMA), was honoured with the Award of Excellence in Health Leadership by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) during its Leadership Retreat and Award Night.
The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to healthcare transformation in Edo State through visionary leadership, strengthened healthcare regulation, promotion of patient safety, and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare quality and accountability across the State.
Under her leadership, EDOHERMA has continued to advance reforms focused on health facility regulation, public health monitoring, workforce verification, infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, patient rights protection, and the enforcement of minimum health standards.
Receiving the award, Dr. Urhoghide-Edigin expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Medical Association for the recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to working with all stakeholders to build a safer, more responsive, and higher-quality healthcare system for the people of Edo State.
Dr. Urhoghide-Edigin dedicated the award to His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Government and people of Edo State, as well as the dedicated staff and partners of EDOHERMA whose collective efforts continue to drive the Agency's vision of ensuring safe, quality, and accountable healthcare for all.
The recognition serves as an encouragement to continue the important work of strengthening healthcare standards and protecting public health across the State.
