Edo State Govt Donates Operational Bus to EDOHERMA to Strengthen Healthcare Regulations

The Edo State Government has donated an operational bus to the Edo State Health Regulation and Monitoring Agency (EDOHERMA) to strengthen the agency's capacity for healthcare regulation, monitoring, and enforcement across the State.
The vehicle which was presented on behalf of the Executive Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is expected to enhance EDOHERMA's mobility, improve field operations, and bolster the Agency's oversight of healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
Presenting the vehicle, the Edo State Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa Esq., congratulated the management of EDOHERMA on the milestone and commended the Governor for his continued investment in strengthening public institutions. He described the donation as a demonstration of the administration's commitment to improving healthcare service delivery through effective regulation and institutional support.
Receiving the operational vehicle, the Chief Executive Officer of EDOHERMA, Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin, expressed profound appreciation to Sen. Okpebholo for his unwavering commitment to strengthening the Healthcare Sector of the State.
Dr. Urhoghide-Edigin described the donation as timely and strategic, noting that it would significantly improve the Agency's capacity to carry out routine inspections, regulatory monitoring, emergency response activities, and enforcement operations across healthcare facilities in the State.
According to Dr. Urhoghide-Edigin, the continuous support of the State Government has enabled EDOHERMA to effectively discharge its statutory mandate of sanitising the Healthcare Sector by promoting compliance with regulatory standards, and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of residents.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Andrew Iyamu, commended the Governor for prioritising investments in the Health Sector. He noted that the administration remains committed to providing the infrastructure, equipment, and institutional support required to improve healthcare delivery and protect the lives of Edo people.
Similarly, the Managing Director of the Edo State Emergency Management Agency (EDOSEMA), Hon. Jerry Idahosa, described the donation as a strategic intervention that would strengthen inter-agency collaboration and improve the State's capacity for coordinated healthcare monitoring, emergency preparedness, and rapid response.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rev. Frank Omobude, applauded the Governor's visionary leadership and sustained investments across critical sectors. He particularly acknowledged the administration's efforts in repositioning the Healthcare Sector through strategic interventions aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services for the people of Edo State.
The donation of the operational bus underscored the Edo State Government's commitment to strengthening healthcare regulation and monitoring, while equipping institutions with the resources required to deliver efficient, responsive, and quality healthcare services across the State.
